Allan Davidson studied at St John’s Wood School of Art and the Royal Academy Schools where he was awarded a silver medal for painting a figure from life in 1897. He then moved to Paris to study at the Académie Julian with Pierre Carrier-Belleuse (1851-1932).
Between 1898 and his death in 1932, Davidson exhibited 25 paintings at the Royal Academy in London, as well as numerous other major venues including the Royal Institute of Oil Painters to which he was elected a full member in 1921.
