Steall Falls and the Nevis Gorge - 19th Century Scottish Landscape Oil Painting
This is a very large fine 19th century oil on canvas depicting a magnificent view of ‘Steall Falls and the Nevis Gorge’ near Fort William in the Scottish Highlands by the renowned Victorian landscape painter Clarence Henry Roe (1850-1909). The painting is signed by the artist, and sold in a superb quality newly commissioned bespoke gold metal leaf swept frame.

Steall Falls is Scotland’s second highest waterfall with a single drop of 390 feet, seen in the painting from the Nevis Gorge. Clarence Roe was the most gifted of the four artist sons of mid-Victorian painter Robert Henry Roe (1822-1905).
