Loch Lomond - 19th Century Scottish Highland Landscape Oil Painting
This is a large fine original late 19th century oil on canvas depicting ‘Loch Lomond’ in the Highlands of Scotland by the listed British artist Charles Leader (1868-1940). The painting is signed by the artist and hangs in a newly commissioned bespoke Baroque style gold metal leaf frame.
As with all of the original antique oil paintings we sell it is offered in the very finest condition it can be for its age having been newly cleaned and re-varnished.
In subject and execution, they are very similar to the work of Britain’s premier landscape painter of the late 19th century Benjamin Williams Leader. Works by Charles Leader have sold through Christie’s and Bonham’s.
