‘The Mill Stream’ by Henry Jutsum (1816-1869). The Painting hangs in a good quality gold metal leaf swept frame.
Henry Jutsum studied under the early 19th century landscape painter James Stark (1794-1859) and naturally his work inevitably reflects the influence of both the Norwich School and the Dutch Golden Age Masters such as Meindert Hobbema and Jacob Van Ruisdael.
As with all of the original antique oil paintings we sell it is offered in excellent condition, having just been professionally cleaned, restored and re-varnished. Clients should also note that tracked and signed for international shipping is complimentary.
Jutsum first exhibited at the Royal Academy aged 20 in 1836, and went on to show another 67 paintings at there. He also exhibited 75 works with the British Institution, and 19 at the Suffolk Street Gallery of the Royal Society of British Artists. Paintings by Jutsum are held in the Royal Collection, and the Victoria and Albert Museum.
