A very large fine 19th century landscape oil on canvas by the eminent Victorian landscape painter Edmund Morison Wimperis. The painting is signed by the artist and hangs in a superb newly commissioned gold metal leaf frame.
As with all of the original antique oil paintings we sell it is offered in the finest condition it can be for its age, having just been professionally cleaned and re-varnished. Clients should also note that fully insured, tracked and signed for international shipping is complimentary.
Wimperis exhibited at the Royal Academy, the Royal Society of British Artists etc. and became a member of Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours in 1875 and was voted Vice President in 1895. He was elected a full Member of the Royal Society of British Artists in 1870 and a full Member of the Royal Oil Painters Institute in 1893. Works by Wimperis are held in the British Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
