Lough Beagh, County Donegal - 19th Century Irish Landscape Oil Painting
A large fine 19th century oil on canvas depicting a magnificent evening sunset over ‘Lough Beagh, County Donegal’ in Ireland by the renowned Victorian landscape painter Clarence Henry Roe (1850-1909). The painting is signed by the artist and sold here in a newly commissioned fine quality gold metal leaf swept frame. This is without question the finest work by Roe that I have ever come across.
As with all of the original antique oil paintings we sell it is offered in the very finest condition it can be for its age, having been professionally cleaned and re-varnished. Clients should also note that fully insured, tracked and signed for international shipping is complimentary.
Clarence Roe was the son of the popular artist Robert Henry Roe (1822-1905) and his two brothers Colin Graeme Roe and Robert Ernest Roe were also successful late 19th century artists. Clarence Henry Roe was a prolific painter of Scottish Highland loch scenes as well as English country landscapes.
