View from the Surrey Hills - 19th Century Landscape Oil Painting

This is a large fine 19th century summer landscape oil on canvas depicting a small family, cattle, and sheep in an extensive ‘View from the Surrey Hills’ by the renowned Royal Academy artist George William Mote (1832-1909). The painting is signed by the artist and dated 1883. It is presented in a newly commissioned fine quality bespoke gold metal leaf frame.

As with all of the original antique oil paintings we sell it is offered in excellent condition, having just been professionally cleaned and re-varnished. Clients should also note that tracked and signed for international shipping is complimentary.

Between 1857 and 1877 George William Mote exhibited 15 paintings at the Royal Academy, 18 works at the Suffolk Street Gallery of the Royal Society of British Artists, and 5 with the British Institution in London.
