Loch Lomond - 19th Century Landscape Oil Painting of the Scottish Highlands
This is a very large fine 19th century oil on canvas depicting a magnificent summertime view of ‘Loch Lomond’ in the Highlands of Scotland by the renowned Victorian landscape painter Clarence Henry Roe (1850-1909). The painting is signed by the artist, and sold here in a newly commissioned fine quality gold metal leaf swept frame.
As with all of the original antique oil paintings we sell it is offered in the very finest condition it can be for its age, having just been professionally cleaned and re-varnished.
Clarence Roe was the son of the popular artist Robert Henry Roe (1822-1905) and his two brothers Colin Graeme Roe and Robert Ernest Roe were also successful late 19th century artists. Clarence Henry Roe was a prolific painter of Scottish Highland loch scenes as well as English country landscapes.
